Wll.Jmp
Wll.Jmp was made for the LOWREZJAM 2023 in about two weeks.
In this game you control a small organism that tries to get out of the juggernaut of the mega city to see the sun for once in its life. The only way up is to take advantage of the conveniently placed walls and zigzag the whole way up.
Do you want to reach the top of the city? Do you want to break through the cloud cover? Do you finally want to fill up on Vitamin D and feed the the ravenouscarcinomas? Then you have to master the Wll.Jmp!
And don't forget to share your final time. I am curious about the minimum time in which a perfect ascent is possible.

Synopsis:
In a future SO distant, (but not distant enough if you ask us), mankind, in their infinite wisdom, has managed to construct buildings all over the entire planet. Trees? Who needs 'em! Oceans? Totally overrated. Sunshine? Pfft, that's so last millennium.
Yes, folks, humanity's greatest achievement: Blocking out the very source of all life and Vitamin D, our once-beloved sun. Slow clap. But hey, who doesn't love permanent midnight? Night owls are rejoicing everywhere.
But fear not, for in this eternal shadow, life...uh...finds a way. Tiny, scrappy, and incredibly adept organisms (that are clearly smarter than us) have evolved to pop up between the massive skyscrapers. It's like a cosmic game of Whack-a-Mole.
Are you ready to embark on this grand adventure? Journey through the dark alleys, meet the city's quirky nocturnal residents, and maybe, just maybe, find that one spot that gets a single sunbeam for like, two seconds. Happy jumping!

Pretty fun game! I think you can work on controls a little more. For Input Mapping try "X/C" keys on keyboard and you can add moving while jumping, you probably made it intentional to balance the game but I think instead of sacrificing the game feel, you can make the level design harder.
thx for your comment. Yes that is the way it is meant to be. I wanted to create a challenging and unique mechanic. Sure, the controls are a bit clunky and the various parameters are not perfectly aligned with the level design. But there's one thing you definitely shouldn't be able to do in the game and that's move around in mid-air ;)
wow this is really fun
thx, appreciate it :)
I love the how simple the game, however, my complaint would be on the controls. It wasn't clear at first that you can dash until I read the description. It's a bit hard and unintuitive to understand how you control the character at first, but it gets really fun when you do so. I see you can't move left or right when in air, which makes sense by the way, but that made it very annoying while watching yourself fall to the very bottom of the level. I wouldn't say it's difficult but hard to control. Overall, I think it's an enjoyable simple game.
Thanks for the feedback. I will add a tutorial for the control ingame.
At first you could move the character in the air. However, it made the game very easy, because you always quickly get to a wall due to the resolution. So I decided to go with the variant with the dash. My goal was to develop an easy-to-learn-hard-to-master-game. Well and of course my experience in programming is also very limited :D
Thank you for taking the time :)
Very good !
Thanks, I appreciate it.
